  • NHL Career

    Sutton joined the NHL by signing as a free agent with the San Jose Sharks on March 20, 1998. He made his NHL debut that same year and split his first two seasons between the Sharks and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Kentucky Thoroughblades. On June 12, 2000, Sutton was traded to the newly established Minnesota Wild. He played for the Wild until January 22, 2002, when he was sent to the Atlanta Thrashers. Sutton played in Switzerland, for the ZSC Lions, during the 2004-05 NHL lockout, then returned to the Thrashers in 2005. After two additional seasons with the Thrashers, Sutton signed as a free agent with the New York Islanders on August 10, 2007.
