Andy Richter was Conan O'Brien's sidekick for the first seven years of Late Night With Conan O'Brien's run on NBC, and has rejoined his old partner as the new announcer for The Tonight Show.IGN: Andy Richter Gets Job on O'Brien's Tonight Show (February 24, 2009) He has starred in three short-lived TV series and has made several film appearances and cameos on various sitcoms.

In March of 2009, Richter appeared in a parody Nissan commercial for the comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade.YouTube: Car Commercial Featuring Andy Richter (Time: 1:30) The ad sends up commercials where two people compare the deals they just got on their new cars.

After a very successful run on Late Night with Conan O'Brien that launched his career, Andy Richter had a hard time staying employed on one show for very long despite his popularity. First he starred in Andy Richter Controls the Universe a goofy sitcom about a group of people who work together in an office; the series was canceled after two shortened seasons. FOX developed another series with Richter as the lead actor playing 5 roles called Quintuplets. It did not even last a full season. Richter moved back to NBC on his next series Andy Barker, P.I. a slightly darker comedy about a private investigator who had trouble finding clients. The series lasted a mere six episodes.
