Andy was born in Dunblane, Scotland to an accomplished sporting family, but currently lives in London, England.

Andy Murray perfomed well at at the Australian Open, the first big tournament of 2010. reaching the final where he was beaten in straight sets by Roger Federer. Murray had made an excellent start, racing to a 6-1, 6-1, 6-2 victory against South African Kevin Anderson in the first round. He continued to perform exceptionally well beating Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals, and coming back from a slow start to beat Marin Cilic in the semi-final, thus reaching his second ever Grand Slam final.http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/8481471.stm

In the final, Murray lost in straight sets, but had five set points in a dramatic third set tie break. After the match an emotional Murray said: "I can cry like Roger, it's a shame I can't play like him." Federer responded: "Andy, well done for your incredible tournament. Murray progressed smoothly through the matches leading up to the semifinals where he defeated Rafa Nadal, the number one seeded tennis player, to enable him to proceed to the finals. He continued to show his skill as a player defeating the number 3 player Roger Federer to win the Rogers Cup for the second Time in a row. Career Highlights

Since the age of two, Andy Murray has been on the tennis court. After playing in several youth tournaments, Murray became the youngest player to represent Britain in the Davis Cup at the age of 17. The following year, Murray turned pro and at the age of 18, became the youngest British player in the top 100 since 1974.
