  • American professional hockey player Andy Hilbert plays for the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League.
  • NHL Career

    Hilbert was drafted 37th overall in the 2000 NHL draft by the Boston Bruins. In 2001, he joined the Bruins' American Hockey League affiliate, the Providence Bruins. Hilbert made his NHL debut that same year and split his first three professional seasons between the NHL and the AHL. He played exclusively with the Providence Bruins during the 2004-05 lockout, then was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks on November 6, 2005. Hilbert played just 28 games in Chicago before he was waived and picked up by the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 9, 2006. He completed the 2005-06 season with the Penguins before entering free agency and signing with the New York Islanders on July 4, 2006.
