Andy Greene

Andy Greene is a professional hockey player defenseman for the New Jersey Devils. He was originally signed by the Devils as a free agent on April 4, 2006, and made his NHL debut on January 12, 2007, in a game against the Atlanta Thrashers. Prior to making his NHL debut with the Devils, Andy Greene appeared in 52 games with the team's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Lowell Devils. Andy Greene was born in Trenton, Michigan, on October 30, 1982. The 5-foot-11 Greene, who makes his off-season home in his hometown of Trenton, Michigan, was an education major in college and enjoys listening to country music. His first hockey memory was being awaken for Mites' practice by his father at five years old. Andy Greene Statistics and Career

Andy Greene played four years of college hockey in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) for the Miami University of Ohio Redhawks. In 159 games for the Redhawks, he posted 114 points on 27 goals and 87 assists, and logged 256 penalty minutes. During his four years with the team, he received many awards and honors, including but not limited to being named to the 2002-03 CCHA All-Rookie Team, Miami's Rookie of the Year award for the 2002-03 season, the recipient of Miami’s Gary DeLonge Most Valuable Player award in 2004-05, and the CCHA Best Offensive Defenseman for both the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons.Miami’s Gary DeLonge Most Valuable Player Award in 2004-05

After playing in 52 AHL games for the Lowell Devils to start his professional career, Andy Greene began playing permanently in the NHL for the New Jersey Devils. In 209 NHL games through the 2009-10 season, he logged 62 points on 11 goals and 51 assists. He also registered 64 penalty minutes, and had eight power play goals.
