Andy Bernard a character played by Ed Helms who appears in the NBC sitcom The Office. In the show, Bernard is the Regional Director in Charge of Sales for the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of Dunder Mifflin, a paper company. He graduated from Cornell University and is not shy about saying so, and in his earlier seasons displayed a severe anger management problem. He enjoys making up nick names for his co-workers and sings in an acapella group known as "Here Comes Treble". He can be seen on the hit NBC show The Office butting heads with Dwight Schrute and Jim Halpert as well as kissing up to boss Michael Scott. Eventually his character went on to date the office accountant and resident cat-lady, Angela Martin.
Hey, Big Tuna!
Although he was originally written in as a comic foil for Jim Halpert, Andy Bernard eventually became one of the more sympathetic characters in The Office. While still as annoying as ever with his tendency toward bad jokes and shameless sycophancy (both of which are evidenced by the nickname "Big Tuna", a name he game to Jim after he saw him eating a tuna sandwich), his sincere and generally well-meaning nature eventually won over (or at least pacified) the icy Angela Martin, and she agreed to go on a date with him, which blossomed into a somewhat functional courtship.
