Hall of Famer Andy Bathgate is a retired professional ice hockey center who played in the National Hockey League for 17 seasons for the New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, and Pittsburgh Penguins.
He also played in other ice hockey professional leagues such as the World Hockey Association (WHA), Western Hockey League (WHL), American Hockey League (AHL), and Nationalliga A (International League).
NHL Career
Bathgate started playing in the NFL with the New York Rangers where he was the team captain. He played eleven seasons with the Rangers before he was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1964 and then moved to the Detroit Red Wings in 1965. He was acquired by the Pittsburgh Penguins from Detroit in the 1967 NHL Expansion Draft and played for his final two seasons in the NHL.Hockey-Reference.com: Andy Bathgate Statistics
Other Leagues
He first played with the Winnipeg Black Hawks in the 1948-49 season. The following year, he played with the Guelph Biltmores where he led the team in the 1952 Memorial Cup Championship. He played with WHL's Vancouver Canucks (1952-54, 1968-70), AHL's Cleveland Barons (1953-54) and Pittsburgh Hornets (1966-67).
Bathgate also played with WHA's Vancouver Blazers (1974-75) as he was selected in the 1972 WHA General Player Draft by Miami-Philadelphia which franchise was transferred to Vancouver in 1973.Hockey-Reference.com: Andy Bathgate Statistics
