Andruw Jones is a professional athlete in Major League Baseball. He is currently a member of the Texas Rangers.

Anduw Jones agreed to a one year contract with the Texas Rangers on February 8, 2009. The deal will reportedly pay Jones $500,000. The former all-star centerfielder is attempting to resurrect his career after a disappointing 2008 season when he averaged a meager .158 batting average, with 3 home runs and 14 runs batted in. Jones originally signed as an undrafted amateur free agent with the Atlanta Braves on July 1, 1993. After his first few years in the minors, Jones was called up to make his MLB debut on August 15, 1996 with the Braves.

In 1994 Jones earned a full roster spot with the Braves, playing in 153 games, hitting 60 runs and 18 homeruns. He came in fifth for the MLB Rookie of the Year the same year.

Jones made his first post season appearance in 1996, when the Braves lost the World Series to the New York Yankees. In 1998, Jones win his first of ten consecutive Golden Glove Awards.

In 2000, Jones was selected for his first of five MLB All-Star Game appearances. Following his fourth All-Star game in 2005, Jones was also selected for the Silver Slugger Award and was second in voting for the MLB Most Valuable Player award. Additionally in 2005, Jones was given the Hank Aaron Award, for leading the league in homeruns that season, with 51.

Jones enter free agency following the 2007 season and signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers on December 5, 2007. The contract was worth a reported $36.2 million over two years.

On December 28, 2008, news agencies reported that the New York Mets were interested in acquiring Andruw Jones from the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 2008, Jones hit .158 with 76 strikeouts. On January 2, 2009, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced that the team has reached an agreement to part ways with Andruw Jones. The team will either trade or release Jones before the start of Spring Training of the 2009 Major League Baseball season. Jones will receive the remainder of his $21.1 million dollar contract.
