Android 2.0 was the successor to Google's cell phone operating system Android. Android 2.0 was released as an SDK on October 26, 2009 and was previously known under the codename of "Eclair". Version 2.0 was an upgrade from the previous version 1.6.

Verizon Wireless launched an ad campaign for the new phone called Droid Does, comparing the functionality of the Droid to that of the Apple iPhone.
Android 2.0 has already been superseded. On December 3, 2009 - Android 2.0.1 SDK was released. On January 12, 2010 - Android 2.1 SDK was released. All Android Software is available on an open source basis under an Apache Software license agreement.
