  • National Hockey League goalie Andrew Raycroft plays professional hockey for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

    Raycroft was drafted by the Boston Bruins during the fifth round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. After finishing his last season in the Ontario Hockey League as the first goaltender in over 50 years to be voted the League's most valuable player, he joined the Bruins' American Hockey League affiliate, the Providence Bruins, for the better part of the next three seasons.

  • NHL Career

    Raycroft was named as the Bruins' starting goalie for the 2003-2004 season and went on to win 29 out of 57 games, letting in an average of 2.05 goals per game. He received the Calder Trophy as the League's top rookie. The following season Raycroft struggled, winning only eight of thirty games played and losing both the starting and backup goalie roles to Tim Thomas and Hannu Toivonen respectively.

    During the summer of 2006, Raycroft was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs and was named their starting goalie for the upcoming season. He played 72 games and won 37, tying Ed Belfour's franchise record for most wins in a season. Raycroft struggled in the early stages to the 2007-2008 season and lost the starting role to Vesa Toskala.
