Football Career
After high school, Pinnock played college football with the South Carolina Gamecocks. He recorded 1,852 yards and 27 touchdowns on 422 carries with the Gamecocks. Pinnock was named a candidate for All-American, All-SEC and for the Doak Walker Award, given to the top college football running back.
In 2003, Pinnock was selected 229th overall in the NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers. He played in all 16 games during his rookie season in 2003, but did not record a single stat. Pinnock was limited to just one game during the 2004 season, after he was benched and suspended. He returned to the team in 2005, and went on to help LaDainian Tomlinson reach a 1,400-yard season in 2007. Pinnock was sidelined again in 2007, after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in a playoff game.
