Canadian professional hockey player Andrew Peters plays for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League.
Jarkko Ruutu of the Ottawa Senators allegedly bit Peters' thumb during a January 6, 2009, game. The incident occurred during a first period scuffle, for which Peters received a unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for instigating the fight. NHL Career
Peters was drafted 34th overall in the 1998 NHL draft by the Buffalo Sabres. In 2000, Peters was assigned to the Rochester Americans, a Sabres' American Hockey League affiliate, where he played for three years. In 2003, Peters made his NHL debut with the Sabres, playing 42 regular season games. Peters played 22 games for the Bodens IK in Sweden during the 2004-05 NHL lockout before rejoining the Sabres in 2005.

Steroid Controversy
In August of 2005, Peters admitted to using steroids. He reportedly used Androstenedione in 2003, a year before it was banned by the FDA.
