Russian-American entrepreneur Andrew Mogilyansky was arrested in December of 2008 for traveling to Russia and arranging to have sex with underage orphaned girls. In July of 2009, a judge accepted his plea deal, which specifies that Mogilyansky will be sentenced to between six and eight years in jail and be ordered to pay fines to the victims.http://www.philly.com/philly/wires/ap/news/state/pennsylvania/20090731_ap_pamantoget612to8yearsinsexcrimescase.html
Plea Deal
According to both defense and prosecution lawyers, Mogilyansky's plea deal was entered and accepted, at least in part, to spare the victims the trauma of having to travel overseas and testify about their experiences.http://www.philly.com/philly/wires/ap/news/state/pennsylvania/20090731_ap_pamantoget612to8yearsinsexcrimescase.html
According to attorney Jack McMahon: "This was something that was in their childhood and obviously, they don't want to revisit it. And this eliminates their having to revisit it, so it's good for them. But most importantly, Mr. Mogilyansky recognized that, and that was one of his motivations for not pursuing any defense in this case because he didn't want them to relive the wrong he had inflicted on them."http://www.kyw1060.com/Judge-Accepts-Russian-Businessman-s-Sex-Tourism-Pl/4913655
