Andrei Arlovski is a mixed martial arts fighter for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is a former UFC heavyweight champion.
MMA Career
Andrei Arlovski made his UFC debut at UFC 28 on November 17, 2000. After defeating Aaron Brink at the event, Arlovski was put against the top competition in UFC.
After UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir suffered injuries in a 2004 motorcycle accident, an "interim heavyweight title" was created. Arlovski defeated Tim Sylvia by submission at UFC 51 to become the new interim champion. On August 12, 2005, Arlovski was recognized as UFC's undisputed heavyweight champion after Frank Mir was still not recovered enough to fight again.
Arlovski lost the UFC title to Tim Sylvia in April 2006. His final UFC fight was a win against Jake O'Brien on March 1, 2008.
