Swedish professional ice hockey player Andreas Karlsson most recently played with the Tampa Bay Lightning in the National Hockey League. Karlsson was drafted 148th overall in the 1993 NHL draft by the Calgary Flames. He continued to play in Sweden for the Leksand IF until 1999, when he joined the Orlando Solar Bears in the International Hockey League. Karlsson was traded in 1999, to the Atlanta Thrashers and made his NHL debut that same year. After three seasons with the Thrashers, he spent two years in the American Hockey League, with the Chicago Wolves, then one year in Switzerland and two years in Sweden. On July 1, 2006, Karlsson signed as a free agent with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
