Actress Andrea Fay Friedman played a character with Down Syndrome on the popular night time animated television show. In the episode "Chris" develops a crush on Friedman's character. In the episode, Andrea Fay Friedman's character says "I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska". Sarah Palin's youngest son, Trig Palin has Downs Syndrome and while the joke was reportedly meant as a sarcastic joke, the entire episode struck a chord with a number of people and interest groups.
