  • NHL Career

    Roy was drafted 151st overall in the 1994 NHL draft by the Boston Bruins. He joined the Bruins for his NHL debut in 1995 and split his first season between the Bruins and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Providence Bruins. After three seasons in Boston, Roy played in the East Coast Hockey League and the International Hockey League before signing as a free agent with the Ottawa Senators on April 28, 1999. He spent three years with the Senators, then was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning on March 15, 2002. Shortly after helping the Lightning win the 2004 Stanley Cup Championships, he signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins waived Roy and he was picked up by the Lightning on December 2, 2006. An unrestricted free agent after the 2007-2008 season, Roy signed with the Calgary Flames in the summer of 2008.
