Andray Blatche is an NBA power forward with the Washington Wizards.
High School
After leading Hinninger High School to the New York Section 3 Class AA championship in 2004, Blatche attended the South Kent Prep in South Kent, Connecticut. After a year of prep school, Blatche decided to make the leap to the National Basketball Association, declaring eligible for the 2005 NBA Draft. The Washington Wizards selected Blatche with the 49th overall pick.
Strengths
Blatche has a nice touch from the outside for a big man, and plays well facing the basket. Blatche runs the floor well, and has solid ball handling skills despite his size[1]. Blatche also has good spring in his legs, which makes him an effective shot blocker and rebounder[2].
Weaknesses
Despite his stature (6'11" 248 lbs), Blatche does not possess a fully developed post game[1]. He seems infatuated with the perimeter, yet he does not possess 3-point range[2]. Blatche needs to develop a stronger inside game if he is going to play up to the Kevin Garnett comparisons he has received early in his career.
