UFC Career
After competing in the PRIDE Fighting Championships, Anderson Silva signed a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2006. He made his UFC debut on June 28, 2006 at Ultimate Fight Night 5, defeating Chris Leben by knockout. Silva was then given a shot at Rich Franklin and the UFC middleweight title at UFC 64 on October 14 of that year. Anderson defeated Franklin in the first round to become the new UFC middleweight champion.UFC: UFC 64 Silva defeated Franklin in a rematch on October 20, 2007 at UFC 77.
