• Ana Maria Macedo is a Brazilian model and fashion designer. In 2008, she had planned the wedding of her dreams but her Swedish fiance, Jon Jonsson, got cold feet and canceled the ceremony.     Like the movie, Macedo had her own happy ending when Macedo and Jonsson wed on June 13, 2009 at St. Bartholomew's Church in New York City.

    Just like Chris Noth's character, Mr. Big, in Sex and the City, Jon Jonsson ended up jilting his bride after a case of cold feet. Also like Mr. Big, the handsome and successful Swede watched his wedding explode from 80 guests to a transatlantic event with 250 guests. Never one to seek the spotlight, Jonsson cracked under the pressure and called of the wedding.

    A week after the wedding was supposed to have occurred, Jonsson apologized to Macedo with two bouquets of roses.     The couple eventually wed on June 13, 2009.

  • Life and Career

    Ana Maria Macedo moved from her hometown of Bahia to Sao Paulo when she was eighteen-years-old to become a model. After four years of working as a fit model, she relocated to New York in 2001. She lived with her sister, Alessandra, while she established her modeling career but soon signed with Elite modeling agency. She worked on campaigns for Diane von Furstenberg, Nicole Miller as well as a national Budweiser campaign.
