Production for the film An American Carol, directed by David Zucker, began in February of 2008. The movie, a parody of Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol, tells the story of an outspoken liberal documentary filmmaker who is visited by patriotic spirits.

Kelsey Grammer will play the ghost of General George S. Patton and Jon Voight will portray the ghost of George Washington. Country singer Trace Adkins will play the Spirit of Christmas Future.
