Sedaris as Performer
Sedaris began her career as a member of the Chicago-based Second City theater troupe. It was there that she met longtime collaborators Paul Dinello and Stephen Colbert. The three starred in and wrote for the short-lived sketch comedy program Exit 57. Their next project together, Strangers with Candy, would bring Sedaris both critical and cult success. The show was eventually turned into a feature-length film.
Sedaris as Author
Sedaris is the co-author of the book Wigfield: The Can Do Town That Just May No!, which also toured as a theatrical production with Dinello and Colbert. She penned a monthly advice column for the periodical The Believer and eventually released the aforementioned hospitality book, which capitalized on her professed love of baking and crafts.
Sedaris is best-selling author David Sedaris' sister. The two have collaborated on several plays together, including The Book of Liz, under the name "The Talent Family".
