Actress Amy Ryan worked in stage, television and film for many years before being nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in Bef Affleck's Gone, Baby, Gone. Born in 1969 in Queens, New York, she made her Broadway debut in 1993 in Wendy Wasserstein's The Sisters Rosensweig.
Critical Praise
During the 2007 awards season, Ryan won 19 "Best Supporting Actress" awards, 17 for Gone, Baby, Gone and two for Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. Among the groups honoring her: the National Board of Review and the Broadcast Film Critics Association. She appears in the Paul Greengrass thriller Green Zone alongside Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear and Brendan Gleeson.
