Amy Mickelson's diagnosis of breast cancer was announced to the public on May 20, 2009, along with an announcement that Phil Mickelson would suspend his golf play while she undergoes treatment. According to ESPN, she will have further testing before treatment is started and she could undergo major surgery as soon as June of 2009.
