Brett "Amtrekker" Rounsaville left his job and his home in July 2007 and built a website around a list of fifty objectives he had always wanted to experience but had never found the time to make happen. He travels with nothing more than a school-sized backpack filled with four t-shirts and enough technology to produce a weekly podcast. The only two rules he follows are he refuses to go home until all fifty items are crossed off his list and he doesn't spend any money on lodging.

Supporting the Quest
Rounsaville writes about his adventures daily on the Amtrekker website and posts photos along with the weekly videos. Most of the money he lives on comes from advertising revenue and donations to the site.YouTube Video: Amtrekker is Interviewed on Good Morning America (Time 4:26)Some Finished List Items

Amtrekker Quotes
"I was in a great job. I loved my life, and I would have continued doing the same thing twenty-five years from now if I hadn't just decided to see what I could make happen."YouTube Video: Amtrekker is Interviewed on Good Morning America (Time 4:26)"It's all those kind of things that you always think about doing, like, hey, that guy's taking honey out of a bee hive! I wonder what that's like? And then you just stick it to the back of your mind, and you never think about it again, and you never bother to go out and do it."YouTube Video: Amtrekker is Interviewed on Good Morning America (Time 4:26)
"If you are willing to do this you have to be willing to be uncomfortable most of the time."*KIDK CBS 3 (Idaho): Amtrekker on a Mission (April 1, 2008)
