Abuse
Amphetamine abuse is fairly widespread. The lab test for amphetamines/methamphetamines is one of the five tests generally included in a basic drug test, along with cocaine, cannabinoids, opiates, and PCP. While true amphetamines are directly abused, a larger epidemic of methamphetamine abuse exists, due to the relative ease with which it can be created from over-the-counter drugs, where amphetamines must be procured from the manufacturer.Erowid: SAMHSA-5
