In October 2009, Pepsi Co Inc. released an iPhone application called “Amp Up Before You Score” for the Amp Energy drinkers and it caused a huge controversy. The application was to help men pick up one of twenty-four types of women from the punk ‘’rock girl’’ to the ‘’cougar’’. The app then coached the men on how best to attract this type of woman. What started as a joke caused an uproar with the people on twitter. The twitters began in anger stating that this served to objectify women and Pepsi apologized for releasing the application and sent out this tweet “’’ Our app tried 2 show the humorous lengths guys go 2 pick up women.
