    Kevin Skinner took the crown for the America's Got Talent competition. Opera singer Barbara Padilla was the runner-up, much to the dismay of many who believed she was robbed of the win. Her loss was compared to Susan Boyle's loss, as fan favorite, in the British version of the competition.

    Judge favorites in the early performances, from the top 40 choices, are the comedic grandma Lee, the 13-year-old pianist and dancer Arcadian Broad, country singer Kevin Skinner, Drew Thomas Magician and Acrodunk, an in sync group of basketball performers.
  • America's Got Talent Overview

    America's Got Talent is a talent competition that encompasses singing, dancing, comedy and novelty acts.

    Previous winners are singer Bianca Ryan, ventriloquist Terry Fator, and opera singer Neal E Boyd, for seasons one, two and three respectively.

    The winning performer receives a $1 million prize and a chance to perform in Las Vegas.

  • The Premiere

    Seattle, Washington got off to a crazy start with a number of oddball talents that liked to use sharp objects to shock and amaze. A few talents stood out, one was a flying dog, and another was the EriAm sister trio, singing "I Want You Back", a song made popular by Michael Jackson. Interesting performances were given by the Jesse White tumbling team, and a trapeze duo, as well as the Urban Nation Hip Hop Choir.

    Loan officer David Johnson sang an ode about a crush he had on David Hasselhoff, he passed the tryout by a vote of 2 to 1.

  • Fan Favorite Auditions

    On June 30, 2009, fan favorites included a 62-year-old woman named Carol Lugo, who performed Michael Jackson's moonwalk dance. Yoyo Joe got a chance to go to Las Vegas along with the Diva League, a group of dancers in drag. A bleeding light-bulb-chewing man by the name of Chris Allison, was also passed the judges, is that a talent? Next up was a moon walking magician, who flawlessly performed the Michael Jackson forward lean. They saved the best for last, as Kevin Skinner, a chicken catcher from Mayfield, Kentucky, sang a Garth Brooks song. Piers Morgan told him that he was good enough to win the competition.

    On July 7, 2009, Lawrence Beaman was the audience favorite as he sang an incredible "Old Man River."

  • Hasselhoff Threatens Morgan

    Judges Piers Morgan and David Hasselhoff disagreed on certain contestants, which enraged Hasselhoff. He verbally lashed out at Morgan and threatened to head-butt him.
