    American Violet is the story of Dee Roberts, a single mother struggling to raise her children in a small town in Texas. Things are made infinitely more complicated when she is unjustly arrested in a high profile drug raid. In order to save face for their mistake, the city offers Dee a plea bargain but the deal would brand Dee as a felon for life. Unwilling to accept punishment for a crime she did not commit, Dee decides to fight against the system. But her fight puts her life in disarray. Dee feels pressure from her mother to return to her family whose needs have been compromised by her perceived selfish legal battle. After time, Dee is tempted by the prospect of accepting the deal, but she soon realizes she has become a symbol for other innocent citizens who have fallen victim to a corrupt justice system.MSN Movies: American Violet
