  • History

    In 1967, American University Men's basketball team joined the Division I of the NCAA. The school colors are AU red and blue and mascot named Clawed. The Eagles are among the schools that have played NCAA Division I men's basketball the longest without making the national tournament. In 2007-2008 AU's head coach Jeff Jones led the team to it's first Patriot League Championships and the school's first appearance in the NCAA Division I Tournament.
