American Music Club is an American band that was formed in 1983 by singer-songwriter Mark Eitzel. Their music is a unique synthesis of jazz, rock, country and punk. Eitzel is known to be a heavy drinker and due to his erratic and alcoholic rages, has taken breaks from the band on several occasions. In 1994 the band released their seventh album San Francisco but the album was unsuccessful and caused the band to dissolve. In 2003 the band reunited to record a new album, Love Songs for Patriots . Their most recent album The Golden Age, was released in February 2008.
