David Hernandez Stripper Scandal
David Hernandez allegedly worked as a dancer at Dick's Cabaret and Burn, both gay strip clubs in Arizona before appearing on American Idol Season 7. The manager of Dick's Cabaret said in an interview that Hernandez worked at his club for three years.
German Idol Scandal
The production company that produces the German version of American Idol was successfully sued for emotional damages by a 17 year old who appeared on the show.

Carly Smithson Scandal
Many contestants, particularly Carly Smithson, have had previous experience as recording artists in the top 24 of American Idol Season 7. To some people, this seems a breech of the rules of the show.
