    In November 2008, the AHA spent $40,000 on a controversial holiday ad campaign. According to a spokesperson for the group, the ad campaign is geared towards reaching out to people who are atheist or agnostic and "other non-theists who feel a little alone during the holidays because of its association with traditional religion."
