American History X

  • American History X is a film about a former neo-nazi skinhead (played by Edward Norton) who has reformed in prison and hopes to help his younger brother (played by Edward Furlong) avoid a similar fate. Norton earned an Academy Award nomination for best actor. After the film's release Norton's re-edit caused director Tony Kaye to request that his name be removed from the credits. He even took ads out in Variety Magazine attacking the film and accusing Norton of damaging the quality of the film in order to give himself more screen time. He has since rescinded his attacks on the film and Norton and has said he is glad his name was not removed from the credits.
    This movie is filled with a lot of emotion.
