  • American Graffiti is a nostalgic 1973 George Lucas film about a group of teenagers in Modesto, California and their adventures on their last night before going off to college. With a cast full of soon-to-be stars, the movie was a critical and commercial smash and is generally considered to be a cultural milestone in American film making. Telling the story of four main characters, the film connects them all by their shared listening to pirate radio personality Wolfman Jack. The money that Lucas made as a result of the film's box office success help him finance his next project, the space opera Star Wars.
