The American Football Conference is part of the National Football League. Along with the National Football Conference, the American Football Conference, or AFC, is one of the two conferences that make up the NFL. Both the AFC and the NFC have 16 member teams who compete against one another for the title of conference champion. The champion from each conference advances to the Super Bowl. In 2010, the 2010 AFC Championship Game was played between the New York Jets and the Indianapolis Colts. 2010 AFC Championship Game
As the NFL Playoffs progress, the two teams left remaining in the AFC Conference eventually meet up in the AFC Championship Game.
