Amelie Mauresmo is a professional French tennis player. In 2006, she was the Wimbledon Champion. With twenty three career singles titles and two doubles titles, Mauresmo received a silver medal at the Olympics in France in 2004 and was named an official ambassador for Habitat for Humanity.

Early Career
Amelie Mauresmo was first inspired by the game of tennis when she was four years old, watching the 1983 French Open with her parents. By the age of six, she began taking tennis lessons and by eleven years old joined the French Tennis Federation School Program. Her talent was quickly recognized and by the age of fourteen she enrolled at INSEP Vincennes where she continued to learn and work on her game.
