• Zolpidem is a prescription drug used primarily in the treatment of insomnia. It is somewhat infamous for causing, in some patients, the side effects of somnambulism (sleepwalking), binge eating in one's sleep, somniloquy (sleeptalking), and performing daily tasks while still asleep.   Some youth abuse of zolpidem exists, and is generally becoming more widespread.
