Amazon TextBuyIt is a service offered by online retailer Amazon that allows users to make purchases by sending text messages from their mobile phones. In addition to buying, users can check on the availability and price of desired items and are not obligated to buy.
To use the service, users send text messages containing keywords representing the items they want ("iPod" or "Xbox 360" for example). Amazon then replies via text with a numbered list of items that best match the submitted keywords. Users can purchase the item by sending another text with the number of the selected item.
