In November 2007, Amazon.com released the Kindle, an e-book reader with content available through Amazon Whispernet. BusinessWeek praises the design and easy usability, but has a few minor concerns about the available blog library and e-mail compatibility. Steven Levy of Newsweek found the Kindle very usable and easy to read without the buttons and electronic interface being distracting.

Robert Scoble criticizes almost every aspect of the Kindle, but focuses mainly on usability issues and the lack of Web 2.0 features.
