The Amazing McKayla doll is an interactive doll created by PlayMates Toys. To enhance play, Amazing McKayla uses voice recognition, sensory technology and articulated animatronics to emulate the behavior of a real baby.
Amazing Doll Line
Created by Judy Shackelford, the Amazing Dolls line was created to be the next evolutionary step from the popular "Chatty Cathy" dolls of the 1960s. Instead of using a pull string to generate a voice, the dolls use a number of digital technologies to recognize what is said to them and provide appropriate responses via voice and facial expression. The dolls are designed to recognize only one child's voice as "Mommy", and the onboard chip can key in to specific worldwide English-language dialects.
