Canadian actress Amanda Tapping plays Colonel Samantha Carter on science fiction TV shows Stargate SG-1 , Stargate Atlantis and a cameo appearance in the pilot for Stargate Universe. She stars in and produces supernatural series Sanctuary For All, which began on the Web and will air on the Sci-Fi Channel.

Stargate: Samantha Carter
Military physicist Samantha Carter "MacGyvered" a device that would operate the Stargate, a piece of alien technology which creates an interstellar wormhole, allowing users to travel to other planets. Over the course of the Stargate franchise, she's been inhabited by an alien entity, fallen in love with a higher being, been brought back from the dead, met at least twenty alternate-universe versions of herself, blown up a sun, and fought her evil Replicator duplicate. After saving the Earth several times, she has been promoted from captain to full bird colonel, and has been put in command of an outpost in another galaxy.
