American actress Amanda Peet has appeared on numerous television shows and feature films. She began her acting career with brief roles on television series and obscure indie films. Amanda's most recent movie was 2012 which was a big blockbuster. The movie was released in theaters on November 13, 2009.
Career
Amanda's first screen performance was in a 1995 television commercial for Skittles. She supported herself by working as a waitress at City Crab Restaurant in NY and with the residual pay from the commercial. Meanwhile she landed roles on popular television programs such as Law & Order, Seinfeld and Spin City. She played Jennifer Aniston's sister in ''She's the One in 1996, and in 2000 secured a star-making lead role opposite Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry in the hit comedy The Whole Nine Yards.
Peet returned to TV in 2006 to play network president Jordan McDeere on Aaron Sorkin's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. She's also among the cast of the X-Files movie sequel The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Peet is one of the lead characters in '2012' which was released in theaters on November 13, 2009. She starred opposites John Cusack with whom she previously starred in the 2007 movie 'Martian Child'. Future projects include the comedy Gulliver's travels with Jack Black and the comedy named Please Give. Both are scheduled to be released in 2010.
