• Amanda Bynes is an American film and television actress who appeared in her own sketch-comedy show The Amanda Show. She is also a former host on Nickelodeon. Her most recent role was in Living Proof, which aired on Lifetime. It starred Harry Connick, Jr. and Angie Harmon.

    Amanda Laura Bynes was born in Thousand Oaks, California, on April 3, 1986. Her parents are Lynn and Rick Bynes. Bynes has two siblings, an older sister, Jillian, and an older brother, Tommy.
  • Early Career

    Bynes attended a comedy camp where she trained underneath Arsenio Hall and Richard Pryor. She began acting professionally when she was seven years old, appearing in a television commercial. She has also appeared in a number of off Broadway shows.

    After attending acting classes, in 1996, Bynes was cast as a regular in Nickelodeon's All That and Figure it Out. She stayed with All That until the show ended in 2000.

    In 2002, Bynes made her film debut in Big Fat Liar which also starred Frankie Muniz. The first time she starred in a movie solo was in the 2003 movie What a Girl Wants. Bynes starred in the comedy She's The Man in 2006, which was based on William Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night, or What You Will. In 2007, she was cast in Hairspray as Penny Pingleton, which was based on the musical.

    From September 20, 2002, to March 24, 2006, Bynes starred alongside Jennie Garth in the television sitcom What I Like About You, which followed the life of two sisters living in New York City.
  • Fashion Line
