The 2008 American Music Awards are being held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and being hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
The American Music Awards (AMA's) brings pop, rock, country, rap, hip-hop, contemporary, soul, alternative and even Latin music together under one roof for one night.
Who Decides?
The AMA winners are totally decided by the public. Nominees are determined by music industry sales and radio airplay. In the older days the winners were selected by a national poll of 20,000 music fans but for the last two years they have been decided by online voting. Voting online ends November 7, 2008.
