  • NHL Career

    McCauley was drafted 79th overall in the 1995 NHL Draft by the New Jersey Devils. He continued to play for his junior team, the Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League, after the draft before he was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs on February 25, 1997. McCauley made his NHL debut with the Leafs that same year and played with the franchise for a total of six seasons. On March 5, 2003, McCauley was traded to the San Jose Sharks. After just over two seasons with the Sharks, he entered free agency and signed with the Los Angeles Kings on July 2, 2006. McCauley joined the Kings for just 10 games before he was sidelined with a knee injury. At the end of the 2006-07 season, the Kings bought out McCauley's contract, leaving him as a free agent.
