Merchandise ranging from soundtracks, toys and games is available for the live-action/animated film Alvin and the Chipmunks, which was based on the cartoon of the same name. Alvin is a singing chipmunk, who along with Simon and Theodore, and their human friend and manager David "Dave" Seville, took the world by storm with their first single, 1958's "The Chipmunk Song."

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel opened in theaters on December 25, 2009. A host of new movie merchandise has since hit the Internet, including wall calendars, movie posters, stuffed animals, video games and books. The DVD for the film was released in March of 2010.

1. Alvin Seville - Alvin is the leader of the Chipmunks' singing group and is often the protagonist of the stories. He is an energetic character who is always hatching schemes, many of which involve his brothers assisting him. His main love interest is Brittany. Alvin wears his signature color of red with a giant yellow "A" on the front of his shirt. He usually also sports a baseball cap. (In the "Chipmunks" movie, voiced by Justin Long.)
2. Simon Seville - Simon is the "brains" of the Chipmunk brothers, recognizable by the large glasses he wears. Because of his intelligence, he is often exploited by the manipulative Alvin. Simon plays a large variety of musical instruments, including string instruments, horns, wooodwinds and more. His main interest is Jeanette. Simon wears his signature color of blue. (In the "Chipmunks" movie, voiced by Matthew Gray Gubler.)
3. Theodore Seville - Theodore is the chubby gullible Chipmunk who means well, and is always snacking or hungry. He often is the swing vote between his other two brothers when they begin arguing. His love interest is Eleanor, and his signature color is green. (In the "Chipmunks" movie, voiced by Jesse McCartney.)
4. Dave Seville - Dave is the adoptive father of the Chipmunks, as well as their songwriter for the band. He plays the piano and the guitar, and is regularly frustrated by Alvin's hijinx. He has brunette hair.
5. Britanny Miller - A chipmunk, and member of the band "The Chipettes". She is the love interested for Alvin, and much like the other Chipettes, is a direct reflection of Alvin's personality and physical appearance. She is considered pretty, but is very vain and proud and likes getting her way.
6. Jeanette Miller - Another member of "The Chipettes", she is the love interest for Simon and resembles him physically and in personality.
7. Eleanor Miller - Also a member of "The Chipettes", she is Theodore's love interest. Much like Theodore, she is chubby, shy, sweet, and not very intelligent. She is easily pushed around by Brittany.
