Alvin and the Chipmunks are a fictional musical group created by musician and producer Ross Bagdasarian in 1958. The group consists of three singing chipmunk brothers Alvin, Simon and Theodore. The trio is managed by human David Seville. The group released several novelty recordings in the late 1950s and were then brought to television in the animated The Alvin Show in 1961 and again in Alvin and the Chipmunks in 1983.
In 2007, a CGI animated movie about Alvin and the Chipmunks was released, starring Jason Lee, David Cross and Justin Long.
