On June 20, 2008, Atari revealed the system requirements and security features for the PC version of Alone in the Dark. Due to the utilization of SecuROM, Players will be required to have internet connection in order to activate the game. Unlike with other games such as Spore, Alone in the Dark will only require a one time registration.

- Processor: Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz or AMD Athlon X2 +3800
- Memory: 1GB
- Hard drive space: 9.5GB
- Video card: nVidia GeForce 7600 or ATI Radeon X1950 or better
- Sound: DirectX version 9.0c-compatible sound card
- DirectX: DirectX version 9.0c (included) or higher
