The Alltel Scoop is a cell phone from LG exclusively for the Alltel network telephone. The cell phone has, what is called a "candy bar" design that will appeal to the younger crowd and a QWERTY keyboard to encourage text messaging. The Scoop is an exact replica of the LG Rumor, from the competing Sprint network. CNET did a review of the phone and they liked what they saw. The design is as good as advertised and there are several features that make the phone handy. You can store up to 500 contacts in your Scoop and there are all of the usual, calendar, calculator, a notepad, stopwatch and world clock. There are those that come with voice activation, Bluetooth, a wireless web browser and more upgraded features.

Here is more information on the CNETreview. The Scoop got a rating of 7.3 out of 10, which translates to a "very good" rating. They agree that the keyboard is a step up from the Rumor and that the Bluetooth and voice-dialing are worthwhile features.

On the flipside, they argue that the photo quality leaves much to be desired, especially as the camera has no camera flash or "self-portrait" mirror that a lot of people like to have on their phone..
